is a difference-making tight end in the 2023 NFL Draft that projects as an immediate starter at the next level. LaPorta departed the Hawkeyes program ranking first in receptions among tight ends and second in receiving yards. LaPorta is one of the most decorated offensive players in Iowa history.

. You ran a 4.59 in the 40, had a 123-inch broad jump, and ran a 6.91 3-cone. How would you grade your overall performance? It doesn’t mean you’re always going to be the highest recruit or the best athlete in the country. Getting the right guys in the building and placing them in your trusted developmental program is the right way to go about it. Iowa understands that.

I think I’d incorporate well into a run-first offense that has a good balance between passing the ball as well.

JM: When I turn the tape on, I see a sound route-runner that is crisp through his breaks. You ran every route to all levels of the field. Do you have a favorite route to run? JM: You’re also fairly elusive in the open field when it comes to creating yards after the catch. How did you develop that aspect of your game?
