Coral Kerr, 89, was struck by a vehicle at a bus stop near her home in Palmyra, Western Australia. She is currently in critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital. The driver, a 63-year-old man, is assisting police.
The grandmother of Matildas captain Sam Kerr has been hit by a car at a bus stop metres from her Palmyra home, leaving the 89-year-old fighting for her life in hospital. Coral Kerr was reportedly getting off a bus when she was hit by a white Great Wall ute in Palmyra near the intersection of Marmion and Justinian Streets about 10.45am on Friday. “The 89-year-old female pedestrian was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of critical injuries,” a police spokesman said.
“He decided he’d pull up and go on the footpath,” she said. “She’s a lovely lady, so I hope everything goes well with her.” An electricity pole was damaged during the crash and some homes lost power. Roger Kerr — Sam Kerr’s father — is reportedly flying home from the Eastern States to be with his mother. A Royal Perth Hospital spokesman confirmed Ms Kerr was in a critical condition in the intensive care unit on Friday.
