Iranian-born actor Sam Asghari, husband of pop star Britney Spears, took to social media to confirm that he and Britney have separated.

Asghari, who US media described as Spears' most extensive support system, also asked the media for privacy, although he said it would be ridiculous.On Aug. 17, ,ultiple US media reports said that Spears and Asghari were reportedly divorcing after being married for 14 month.In her first post on Instagram following reports of divorce, Spears wrote on Instagram:
