An officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department has been placed on leave after being arrested in Utah County on charges of forcible sexual abuse.
FILE - According to court records, 26-year-old Zander Nunley was arrested on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 by officers with the American Fork Police Department.
The probable cause statement said Nunley and the woman met on an online dating app and began speaking online. Court documents said Zander told the woman he was a police officer and had put away all of his firearms, based on a previous text conversation where she said she didn’t like guns. The woman said Nunley became aggressive sexually and physically. She reported being strangled to the point that it impacted her ability to breathe.
