A federal agency apologized after it was accused of breaking into a Massachusetts salon to use the restroom.

ORLANDO, FL - JUNE 21: A Secret Service agent mans his post before U.S. President George W. Bush's speech June 21, 2002 at the Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex in Orlando, Florida. Bush traveled to central Florida to promote senior fitness as a part of his new fitness campaign. Alicia Powers , told Spectrum News she saw agents going in and out of her business after she thought she had locked it up.

"Violated, disrespected and I'm just totally blown away that there wasn't permission granted or even asked to go into the building," said Powers. She also claimed she had a recording, from one of the security cameras outside the salon, showing an agent placing tape of the camera. The National Desk reached out to the Secret Service for a response. The agency claims it reached out to Powers, according to their statement.

The U.S. Secret Service works closely with our partners in the business community to carry out our protective and investigative missions. The Secret Service has since communicated with the affected business owner. We hold these relationships in the highest regard and our personnel would not enter, or instruct our partners to enter, a business without the owner’s permission. - Melissa McKenzie, U.S.

Since the alleged break-in, the Secret Service reportedly offered Powers to have the salon cleaned and to pay for the alarm company bill for that day.
