As of Aug. 14, 449 illnesses across 31 states and the District of Columbia have been recorded.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention , data showed there were cucumbers that contained salmonella and that over 400 people had found themselves ill. There have been zero deaths but 125 people have been hospitalized.However, due to the similarity of the outbreaks, the investigations were combined.Epidemiologic, traceback, and laboratory data show that cucumbers were contaminated with Salmonella and made people sick," the agency stated.
Symptoms of salmonella include bloody diarrhea or diarrhea that lasts more than three days, a fever over 102, excessive vomiting, signs of dehydration and stomach cramps.
