Salford Mayor Paul Dennett previously shared concerns about a potential loss of retail space, while a public consultation highlighted fears about overdevelopment and infrastructure. It said it was confident the planned site - including one, two, and three-bedroom properties across 10 buildings - would have a positive impact on “both sides of the Irwell” in Salford and Manchester city centre. Matt Brook, director of the designers Matt Brook Architects, said: “Our masterplan creates a safe, walkable and inclusive neighbourhood where nature and architecture work together harmoniously."Listen to the best of
