- Salesforce.com Inc forecast third-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on Thursday, encouraged by more companies opting for its cloud-based services, sending its shares up 7% in extended trading. The company said it expects revenue of $4.44 billion to $4.45 billion for the current quarter, topping analysts’ expectations of $4.25 billion, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
Salesforce has spent billions of dollars on acquisitions in the last few years, adding companies such as Tableau and MuleSoft, as it tries to protect its market share in the face of stiff competition from Microsoft Corp (
