Amid school closures and budget challenges, the district recently saw gains in high school testing but declines in many subjects in grades 3-8.
Trying to help younger students still reeling academically from the pandemic, the San Antonio Independent School District has rolled out a “ STAAR improvement plan” in the wake of this year’s falling scores in the standardized test for math and other subjects in grades 3-8.
How did you district do on STAAR, grades 3-8? “As we are pleased to see the progress that we’re making at the high school level, we acknowledge, given this latest of 3-8, that we must accelerate at the elementary and at the middle school level,” Aquino said during a nearly three-hour discussion with trustees and staff members.
