New Orleans Saints quarterback Jake Haener is dealing with a rare form of skin cancer, he announced at a press conference Friday. Haener was asked about the patch on his right cheek during his presser and revealed the news of his diagnosis.'I have a rare form of skin cancer,' Haener said. 'For my age, it's kind of rare that it pops up like that. So I'm trying to get that evaluated with our training staff. I have a consultation with doctors on Aug.
After spending his freshman season at the University of Washington, Haener transferred to Fresno State, where he was a starter for his last two seasons.Haener made the Saints' opening day roster to begin the 2023 season, but in early September, it was revealed that he failed a drug test in the summer, testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance. He was suspended for the first six weeks of the 2023 season.
