NEW ORLEANS - The Saints have fired head coach Dennis Allen as their losing streak has extended to seven games, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.Allen has an 18-25 record as the Saints' head coach and a 26-53 overall record as an NFL head coach.Rizzi interviewed for the Saints' head coaching position three years ago when Allen was hired. He also interviewed for the Dolphins head coach job in 2018. Rizzi previously had head coaching experience at the college level.
The decision from the Saints comes after Sunday’s late-in-regulation loss to NFC South opponent Carolina Panthers. The Panthers, who struggled all season long, earned their second win by taking down the Saints, who defeated them in week one 47-10.
