Saicom says its APN service enables local companies to use a single Telkom Mobile SIM to roam on MTN and Vodacom networks.
Saicom notes that this offering reduces the chances of network blackouts and ensures business continuity.
It was made possible thanks to a recent restructuring of Telkom’s roaming agreements and has provided Saicom with a platform to further enhance its APN service. This means that Telkom SIMs powered by Saicom will automatically switch to the strongest available signal from MTN or Vodacom, which ensures comprehensive coverage whether a user is in a city or a remote, rural location, according to the company.
“Our partnership with Telkom Mobile allows us to offer SIM cards that can roam across MTN and Vodacom base stations. This roaming capability means that if Telkom Mobile’s network signal is weak or unavailable in a particular area, your device will automatically switch to the strongest available signal from MTN or Vodacom, ensuring you maintain a stable and reliable connection without any manual intervention,” added Greg de Chasteauneuf, CTO at Saicom.
