A Sagamore Hills man who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges didn’t receive any jail time ― but what may be even more surprising; the detective investigating the case tipped him off weeks before his arrest.
Detective notified Anthony Strong ’s attorney that he was being investigated, evidence is now “long gone”SAGAMORE HILLS, Ohio - A Sagamore Hills man who pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge didn’t receive any jail time ― but what may be even more surprising; the detective investigating the case tipped him off weeks before his arrest.
Police body cam video obtained by 19 Investigates shows Sagamore Hills police executing a search warrant at the home of 24-year-old Anthony Strong a year later, in October 2023.“This is for any alleged child porn, any electronics, anything that will be seized,” Sagamore Hills Police Detective Victoria Miavitz can be heard telling Strong after officers cuffed him and took him inside the house where they began their search.
In September 2022, records show Google flagged a 14-second file the company identified as child pornography ― which it says was downloaded to Strong’s computer and cell phone. The report states Strong agreed to go to the police department to discuss the issue. When he didn’t show up ― Detective Miavitz called his attorney, James McDonnell.
