Lytham Hall Classic Bus Display event cancelled due to 'non-stop rain' forecast
The grounds of the Grade I country house were due to host the Lytham Classic Bus and Display Day this weekend. The Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust had organised a display of vintage buses and coaches in front of the hall between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, August 6.
The event would also have seen a free bus service running between the Hall and Lytham town centre, Fairhaven lake and onwards to St Anne's Square. However organisers have now cancelled the event due to the weather but hope to reschedule it for Spring 2024.
"Unfortunately the non-stop rain will not do the buses or our lawns any good at all. We certainly don't want them sinking and getting stuck after being on display for a few hours! "We hope to re-schedule this for the Spring. Apologies to anyone who has made any special arrangements to come to this.Responding to the post, one person said: "What a shame. It’s a lovely event but can understand how difficult that decision must have been."A third commented: "Oh dear, another cancelled event. Tram Sunday, now this."
Another added: "What a shame. This summer has been a wash out" while a fifth person said: "Bad news about Sunday sorry"
