King Charles honoured the late Queen by sitting in her seat
Following the Queen’s funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September a committal service was held at St George’s Chapel and her heir paid a poignant tribute to her with his seating plan.
The Covid restrictions also meant Prince Philip's funeral had only 30 guests allowed in contrast with the estimated 800 originally planned to attend - the same number present at the Queen's committal service today. A third added: “Poignant that King Charles is sitting in the same seat upon where Queen Elizabeth II sat for Phillip's funeral.”
On Monday his coffin will be brought to St George's Chapel and he will be buried alongside the Queen.
