WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu trades her basketball gear for Dior and Kenzo, enjoying the City of Light's fashion scene during Paris Fashion Week. She reflects on the contrast between her Olympic experience and the more relaxed atmosphere of this trip, while also sharing her newfound love for fashion and how it's influenced by the WNBA tunnel walk and social media trends.

Sabrina Ionescu is running me through her list of favorite dinner spots in Paris as she gets her makeup done for Dior’s Haute Couture show. It’s her first time back in the French capital since last summer, when the WNBA star and her teammates took home the gold for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics. Unsurprisingly, she is in a very different mood this time around, as she is being wined and dined, fitted, and glammed for her first Paris Fashion Week.“It’s definitely less stressful,” she says.

“I’d never think that that would be the color of the year, but it’s shown up everywhere, and I have to say I’ve fallen into the trap of buying stuff in that shade. I think it’s beautiful, and hopefully it stays in because now I own a lot of it.”Ionescu says her love of fashion is fairly new, and a direct result of the WNBA tunnel walk, which has gone viral in recent years and shone a light on players’ off-the-court style.
