Maroleng has been the broadcaster’s COO for just over a year.

The SABC has reportedly found its chief operating officer Chris Maroleng guilty following a disciplinary hearing that was initiated late last year. Maroleng was reportedly facing charges of gross negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.

Maroleng’s lawyer Itayi Gwaunza told the publication that the disciplinary process had not yet been finalised and further said Maroleng and the SABC still had to make submissions on the sanction.SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu told the publication that the newly-appointed board would deal with the matter.
