Haynes had made an early impression on his new teammates and coaches earlier this spring, starring for three touchdowns during A-Day. Saban said you wouldn’t know Haynes was a freshman with his “great maturity” and said the ball carrier had aHaynes’ emergence also solidified the running back room as being one of the deepest positions on the team. New offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said UA was “spoiled” in the room.
