KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno is ready for snap polls and is expected to meet on Aug 2 to finalise its strategies to win back the state it lost following the last general election, says Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
“We are ready. It will be a real challenge. I believe the machinery is ready as we have been preparing for the election,” said the Sabah Umno chairman.
He said they will also discuss the standard guidelines for the party to accept its former members including elected representatives wanting to return to the party after they left following the fall of the Barisan Nasional government in 2018. The former chief minister tried to topple Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal's Warisan-led government but failed when the Yang di-Pertua Negeri dissolved the state assembly on Thursday .
