Sabah’s Zakat Fitrah rate is set at RM7

The Zakat Fitrah rate has been set at RM7, which was the same as last year, said the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis).

Muis head Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin said the rate was set based on a measurement of one bushel of Baghdad or 2.7kg of rice which is consumed by the majority of the state’s population.Furthermore, he said the State Mufti Datuk Ustaz Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar has approved the Zakat Fitrah rate to be paid to appointed tithe collectors.
