Sabah govt considering school holiday extension due to surge in Covid-19 cases
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said that they were in discussions with various authorities including the Health Department and were monitoring the situation closely.
“I appeal to the people to minimise their movements and for the private sector to allow their employees to work from home, if possible.“We can overcome this if we all come together to do our part,” he added. He said that state health authorities are also seriously concerned that the number of infected cases might increase further.
Last week, the first positive case was detected on a 58-year-old man in Tawau who attended the Seri Petaling Mosque gathering between Feb 29 and March 1.
