South Australia Police will send 20 officers to Alice Springs following a request from the NT police commissioner to help continue 'high-visibility policing' in the town.
Twenty South Australian police officers will be sent to Alice Springs to assist "high-visibility policing" from next week.NT Police says the arrangement will allow officers from the Top End, who were sent to Alice Springs last week, to return home.
"South Australia Police offered to help come down and boost our resources so we can … continue the heightened police presence in Alice Springs," Mr Dole said. Deputy Commissioner Dole said he did not have concerns South Australian police officers would be hampered by a lack of local training or knowledge, and that they would be working alongside general duties NT police officers.
