The S&P 500 hitting a new all-time high is historically a pretty bullish signal for the U.S. stock market: Over the previous 32 times that the index has done so, the S&P averaged a subsequent gain over the next six months to a year, according to data from Bespoke Investment Group.“Optimism is hitting investors from all directions,” says Charlie Ripley, senior investment strategist at Allianz Investment Management.
