Signs are that the new paleo spot won't be this chain's last.

A health-focused restaurant chain born in the Mission and thriving in Oakland's Jack London Square is expanding with a new location in the Temescal District.

Kitava, a self-described"clean casual" eatery with a menu of paleo-friendly bowls sans gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugar, is taking a corner restaurant space at 375 40th St. previouslyThe space's last tenant was Roux40, a Black-owned farm-to-table restaurant and the. When reached on Tuesday the business, which opened last fall, told me it was working on a new location.

Kitava confirmed its third brick-and-mortar was on the way and said it would announce more details in the coming months as it nails down its opening timeline. A recent beer and wine application revealed the new plans.
