The Deadpool producer, writer, and star has been using social media to talk about X-23, Blade, Elektra, Gambit, and more.
Now that the film is out though, Reynolds can finally speak about everyone who appears in the movie and it’s been a really touching experience. Over the past week or so, the star, co-writer, and producer ofhas used his social media to pay tribute to actors like Wesley Snipes, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Garner, Dafne Keen, and just today, Jon Favreau, who all have surprise supporting roles in the film.
I’ve worked with Jen twice now. She brings a completely different scope of skills to each movie but can’t hide one detail: I don’t care how talented someone is……Gambit is a guy Chan was born to play. His story is similar to mine in that he spent a decade trying to put the most comic-accurate version of Gambit on the big screen. Remy LeBeau is grafted to his soul and needs to come out and deal. And Gambit found his author in Chan.
Nevertheless, you can tell how excited Reynolds was to get these actors back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s rewarding for audiences, sure, but it seems it was just as rewarding for him too. Not just share the screen with them, but to give those characters some semblance of closure. Now we just have to wait and see if any of them come back in future projects.
