Ryan Reynolds on the red carpet
The Avengers assembled for the upcoming Doomsday on December 18 might be the most star-studded cast of all time. However, fans are always hungry for more, with there being one character in particular that many are desperate to see join the fight against Doctor Doom.
That name is Deadpool, the hilarious masked hero portrayed by Welsh football club co-owner Ryan Reynolds. Industry insiders and others are hopeful of Deadpool's surprise inclusion in the film, not only because of Reynolds' penchant for a big-budget movie cameo, but thanks to some cryptic clues delivered via social media. If Reynolds were to join the chaos on December 18, he would be part of a jaw-dropping cast list.
From Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, and Tom Hiddleston to Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, and Pedro Pascal, the Doomsday ensemble is simply too large to mention. Whether Reynolds is involved or not, this is sure to be a huge cinematic event that is destined to surpass the billion-dollar boundary at the box office.
In anticipation of Doomsday, and in the hope that Deadpool might make a fourth-wall-breaking cameo, American fans have been flocking to one of Reynolds' most underrated movies on streaming. The film in question is The Proposal, an enemies-to-lovers tale starring Reynolds opposite the Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock. Upon its arrival in 2009, the film was cruelly met with poor reviews, with critics frustrated by the film's formulaic approach.
This is despite featuring an exciting cast, including Craig T. Nelson, Mary Steenburgen, Betty White, Malin Åkerman, Oscar Nunez, Denis O'Hare, Michael Nouri, Aasif Mandvi, and Michael Mosley. However, 17 years later, it is this very approach that makes The Proposal a perfect rom-com comfort watch. At the time of writing, the film is one of the ten most-streamed on Netflix in the U.S. COLLIDER Collider · Quiz Collider Exclusive · Marvel Personality Quiz Which MCU Hero Are You?
