Joshua Jackson is a cruise doctor smiling in Doctor Odyssey
Summary Ryan Murphy's upcoming series Doctor Odyssey has released its first teaser. The medical procedural series sees Joshua Jackson playing a doctor named Max on a luxury cruise ship where he is responsible for keeping the passengers and crew alive and well, with no one but himself and his small team to rely on while sailing across the ocean. Jackson's co-stars include Miami Vice's Don Johnson and The Gifted's Sean Teale, and Hamilton star Phillipa Soo.
The teaser provides a glimpse into Max's life aboard the ship as he enjoys gourmet dinners, the pool, and the cruise's many other amenities while also being thrown into stressful situations, such as resuscitating guests. He is also seen meeting with Johnson's character, who is seemingly his boss aboard the ship.
Having helped create projects including Glee, American Horror Story, and 9-1-1, Murphy has a diverse resume and has helped shaped the television landscape of the past few decades. Doctor Odyssey looks to expand that further as a medical procedural series that appears to balance its drama with its characters enjoying lighthearted antics and the simple pleasures of cruise ship life. It can incorporate the effective comedy and drama that has made many of Murphy's projects become hit series.
