Now, Miller has confirmed Project Hail Mary has begun filming, posting a behind-the-scenes photo of a clapboard to show it has begun. The clapboard also reveals the logo of the movie, as well as cinematographer Greig Fraser's involvement in the movie. The ambitious project is starting production nearly two years before its upcoming release date of March 20, 2026.
Alongside The Martian and Project Hail Mary , Andy Weir has also written Artemis , which is also planned to get a movie adaptation in the future.
