Rutgers has hired a director for its NIL program.
hired Dann Kabala, who was most recently the Director of Player Personnel and NIL for the Penn State football program, to be the director of its R NIL program, multiple people with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media on Monday morning.
has made to her staff that focus on raising revenue to compete in the current college sports landscape, joining chief operating and revenue officer Todd Knisley, chief development officer of athletics Maggie Long and senior associate athletic director for revenue and contract management Chris Chung. Kabala will work to “build a comprehensive NIL ecosystem that supports student-athlete brand growth, education and long-term value creation,” per a press release announcing his hire. “His role will be central to aligning NIL efforts with the department’s broader branding, fan engagement and revenue objectives.” Kabala spent the past seven years with the Nittany Lions under head coach James Franklin. He oversaw “all aspects” of the team’s NIL and player development department over the past three years after previously serving as Penn State’s Director of High School Relations and recruiting coordinator. Kabala previously worked at Arkansas and Pittsburg before arriving in State College.“The two main areas live in our revenue space and then more specifically to name, image and likeness opportunities.
