The incidents happened on the New Brunswick campus between Oct. 2 and Oct. 25.

A Rutgers University student is facing criminal charges after authorities said he used his cell phone to record women using dormitory showers on the New Brunswick campus.

Michael Williams, 18, of Philadelphia, is charged with three counts of invasion of privacy and one count of tampering with evidence, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday. He was arrested on Friday after authorities identified him as the suspect in a series of incidents reported by women on campus.Williams is in custody at Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.
