The Scarlet Knights dropped a 35-32 loss on Saturday and tumbled down several national polls as a result.
Rutgers’ third loss in a row dropped the Scarlet Knights to their lowest ranking in more than a year. Across five different national polls, Rutgers has an average ranking of 60.6, which is down seven spots from a week ago and has now dropped well below the Scarlet Knights’ preseason position, which started at 46.8.
Rutgers received seven votes for the AP Top 25 three weeks ago but fell way off the radar after losing to Nebraska and even further amid its three-game losing streak. This week, Rutgers’ biggest drop came courtesy of The Massey Ratings, which sent the Scarlet Knights tumbling down 10 spots. Two other polls dropped Rutgers nine spots., Rutgers dropped two spots to No. 66. The FPI poll gives Rutgers a 58.5% chance of winning six games. That number was as high as 96.6% following Rutgers’ win over Washington, which got the Scarlet Knights to 4-0 and was 83.3% still last week before losing to UCLA.
