Rutgers lands Judah Pruitt, ‘big’ offensive lineman from Newark, who will start out on defense
Rutgers defensive line coach Marquise Watson “stood on a table” for Pruitt, the junior said, and showed just how badly he wanted Pruitt to join his defensive line group - already one of the team’s best.
Pruitt began playing football as a freshman in high school, but got off to a slow recruiting start despite his upside and tools. First-year coach Nazier Oliver helped connect the dots when he became the team’s head coach this offseason. A big, massive player who can move, Pruitt headlined a long list of recruits who visited campus on Saturday as Rutgers scrimmaged the final time before next weekend’s spring game.
