At $1.9 million, Ciarrocca’s salary would be tied for the 10th-highest salary among college football assistant coaches and third-highest among offensive coordinators last season, per USA Today’s database.If Ciarrocca terminates his contract prior to the final regular season or post-season game of the 2025 season, his buyout is $1.5 million. If Ciarrocca terminates his contract after the final regular season or post-season game of the 2025 season but before the first game of the 2026 season, his buyout is $1 million. If Ciarrocca terminates his contract after the final regular season or post-season game of the 2026 season but before the first game of the 2027 season, his buyout is $500,000. Ciarrocca’s buyout will be waived if he terminates his employment “because Gregory Schiano is no longer the head coach of the Rutgers football program, or in the event the termination occurs after the first game of the 2027 season.”Ciarrocca is set to make a retention bonus of $75,000 if he remains employed on July 1, 2025.
