The Scarlet Knights need one more win to clinch their first non-losing season since 2014.

. The 18-point rally was the 15th fourth-quarter comeback of coach Greg Schiano’s tenure and matched the biggest deficit the Scarlet Knights have rallied from under the head coach, who is in his 15th season.

When asked about the big picture, his team’s 5-2 record and the chance of getting a bowl game, Schiano dove into his usual diatribe about playing a one-game season. Still, it’s hard to ignore what’s at stake. If Rutgers is able to take care of business against an Indiana team that just dropped a 52-7 loss to Michigan, it will be headed to the postseason.

Kyle Monangai, the junior running back who scored the go-ahead, 21-yard touchdown run and finished with 148 yards, said “it’s definitely a win we needed”. Monangai, who is on pace for the first 1,000-yard season for Rutgers since 2012, disagreed that the comeback salvaged the season but agreed with the fact that everything is still on the table.

“This win really just proves that our culture works,” tight end Johnny Langan said. “We were down. It’s really easy to just look up at the scoreboard and throw in the towel, but we focused on our job every play, chopped our job and rallied our way out of that deficit. I just think it shows our culture at work and makes everyone believe in it even more.
