Rutgers (13-14, 6-10) hosts USC (14-12, 6-9) on Sunday.

practically punched their tickets to the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday, when they defeated USC, 95-85, in Piscataway. They led for the final 22 minutes of a mostly-comfortable victory — a rarity in what has been a calamity of a campaign.

Rutgers was led by five-star freshman Dylan Harper, who scored 25 points on a hyper-efficient 9-of-13 shooting to go with nine assists, six steals and five turnovers. He was aided by solid games from fifth-year senior Tyson Acuff and fellow freshmen Lathan Sommerville , Bryce Dortch and Ace Bailey .

But the hosts could not build a first-half lead bigger than 8 points because they could not stop turning the ball over and could not get stops. The Trojans scored on 18 of their 34 first-half possessions, including 7 second-chance points off of 11 offensive rebounds and 20 points in the paint. The Scarlet Knights — namely Bailey and sophomore guard Jamichael Davis — hit key free throws down the stretch to ice the win.
