Netflix is marketing TheGrayMan by selling Chris Evans 'trash staches,' and the Russo Brothers have questions.

The Gray Man directors The Russo Brothers react to Netflix selling a Chris Evans movie tie-in mustache. Evans famously donned a fisherman’s sweater to play the slimy Random Drysdale in Knives Out. In his upcoming movie The Gray Man, Evans once again plays a bad guy, and once again has a unique look to indicate his villainy.

Indeed Evans’ big The Gray Man villain adornment – a very shady-looking mustache – has already taken on a life of its own for the actor’s fans. Of course it’s always a big deal when Evans plays a villain, as he’s so known for playing Captain America, a character who is straight-laced and heroic even compared to other superheroes in the Marvel universe.

The Russos of course know Evans better than any other directors, having guided him through multiple MCU movies including a pair of Captain America films. So Evans must have felt like he was in good hands as he ventured away from playing the hero for The Gray Man. Indeed, Evans’ Gray Man bad guy is described as “psychopathic,” which makes him presumably even more evil than the devious sweater-wearing Ransom Drysdale.

It remains to be seen though if audiences truly embrace Evans’ mustache-wearing dark side when he becomes the psychopathic Lloyd in The Gray Man. But if the pre-release mustache hype is any indication, fans are ready and willing to go down a shady path with the former Captain America. Netflix certainly hopes that The Gray Man proves to be a hit after all the bad news the streamer has been socked with in recent months, leading to a reported change of direction for the company.
