Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky hailed progress on ending Russia's war in Ukraine at their Florida meeting in Mar-a-Lago.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned the Kremlin that the U.S. and European partners would continue to support Kyiv in its fight against Russia's invasion if Moscow does not make a peace deal to end the war.
Zelensky's comments come a day after his talks in Florida with U.S. President Donald Trump, who said they made “a lot of progress“ on ending Russia's war. Meanwhile, Zelensky has dismissed Russian claims that Kyiv attempted a drone strike on Putin’s residence, calling the allegation a fabrication meant to derail negotiations. Zelensky said Moscow is using the accusation to justify potential attacks on Ukrainian government buildings in Kyiv and to undermine progress made in talks with the United States. He urged Washington to respond firmly to Russian threats. The Kremlin has alleged that nearly 100 drones targeted Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region, with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warning of retaliation. Ukraine insists it only strikes legitimate military targets inside Russia in response to ongoing assaults, and officials say the latest claim is part of Moscow’s broader propaganda effort.
