Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the “indefinite” entry prohibition for 48 esteemed individuals as a reply to similar sanctions enforced by the Australian government, accusing them of stirring up anti-Russian sentiments within the public.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying the action was prompted by a “Russophobic campaign” by the Western World. Victoria’s Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan is the most well-known entity among those sanctioned.
