Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian cities knocked out power and water service and injured civilians in the latest round of attacks on the country's struggling energy grid, Ukrainian authorities said.

Ukrainian State Emergency Service firefighters work to extinguish a fire at the scene of a Russian shelling in the town of Vyshgorod outside the capital Kyiv, Ukraine on Wednesday. Authorities reported power outages in multiple cities of Ukraine, including parts of Kyiv, and in neighboring Moldova after renewed strikes Wednesday struck Ukrainian infrastructure facilities.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the Telegram messaging app"one of the capital's infrastructure facilities has been hit."at least 20 people were injured and one person was killed in strikes in the broader Kyiv region.
