A suspect has been arrested in connection with the deadly bombing of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces, in Moscow. The Federal Security Service (FSB) claims the suspect, a 1995-born individual, confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian intelligence and promised a substantial reward for the assassination.
Russia's security service detained a suspect in the killing of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces, in Moscow . Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov were killed by an explosive device planted on an electric scooter outside Kirillov's apartment building.
The FSB stated that the suspect, born in 1995, confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian special services and promised a $100,000 reward and permission to move to a European Union country in exchange for killing Kirillov. He traveled to Moscow, picked up a homemade explosive device, placed it on the scooter, and detonated it when Kirillov left his building. The suspect faces a sentence of up to life imprisonment
