After a hot first quarter, Westbrook struggles in a 113-108 defeat and says, ‘It’s on me to be more focused in closing the game.’
LOS ANGELES — Russell Westbrook didn’t hesitate when asked what the Clippers could do better when they travel to Portland for Sunday’s game against the Trailblazers.on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena.
In the second quarter, he took and missed one shot but had two assists. By the end of the game, Westbrook finished with 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting with no 3-pointers, nine assists and five rebounds. He, like the rest of the team, struggled from outside, missing all three of his 3-pointers. “That’s more on me,” Westbrook said. “My job is to be able to penetrate and get guys open shots, and get them open 3s, and I didn’t do a good enough job of that. I’ll make sure I’ll be better at that tomorrow.”
