Actor Russell Brand hosted former Fox News host Tucker Carlson for his first interview since being fired. Brand teased the live interview on his Rumble account in a tweet Thursday where he issued a positive prediction for Carlson's future.

Since being fired from Fox News in April, Carlson has continued his own newscast on Twitter but hadn't commented publicly on his firing in a video setting."What you have to accept is Tucker Carlson was out of step with the cadence of ordinary mainstream rhetoric.
Brand asked Carlson what the reason was behind his firing, whether it was fallout from the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, the Dominion election lawsuit, or another reason entirely. Carlson admitted he"can only speculate" as to what the reason was.Carlson also discussed how his opinions have changed in the last 20 years, six of which were spent as the anchor of his own show. He changed his previously positive opinion of the war in Iraq to disagreeing with the conflict entirely, for example.
"The key to joy and wisdom is admitting you're not God," Carlson said."How can you respect yourself if you're lying? You can't."Carlson received eight million views on his most recent Twitter show. Meanwhile, during the second week in June, Brian Kilmeade garnered 1,782,000 viewers while at the helm of Carlson's former television spot.
Brand has over 1 million followers on Rumble, with some 97,000 opting to pay for a subscription tier for the actor-turned-political commentator. Ten minutes of the interview with Carlson was behind a paywall.
