Sundowns finished top of their CAF Champions League group after beating Coton Sport 2-1 on Saturday and had already booked their spot in the quarter-finals after hammering Al Ahly 5-2.
"But if you look at the make-up of the squad, you find a squad that has less than 200 Champions League appearances put together. A lot of players you find on the pitch are players that play their first Champions League. "You've got a player like Neo Maema, who has played bits and parts last season but this season he's playing in big games, with big responsibility.
