Pengerusi jawatankuasa pengurusan bencana negeri Douglas Uggah Embas berkata, seseorang hanya dianggap sebagai pesakit dalam penyiasatan jika beliau mempunyai hubungan rapat dengan kes positif.

Selain itu, beliau turut menjelaskan berhubung laporan bahawa 16 pesakit dalam penyiasatan direkodkan di Miri hari ini. “Majlis bandaraya juga mengeluarkan arahan bertulis kepada premis makanan berhubung kewajiban pemakaian topeng dan semua langkah kebersihan penting dipatuhi,” katanya. Menurut Uggah, terdapat 11 pesakit SARI dan ILI di Kuching, selain 7 di Bintulu, tetapi mereka tidak dikategorikan sebagai kes PUI.

Dalam perkembangan sama, Uggah berkata, pihak bekuasa menjalankan pengesanan rambang kontak di beberapa tempat berikutan kes kematian terbaru akibat Covid-19 pada 11 julai lepas.
