Florida authorities say they are cracking down on large crowds of unruly teenagers at area beaches.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, there will be partial beach closures starting at 7 p.m. when it comes to minors without adult supervision.While many reactions to the closure were positive, some spring breakers have felt otherwise.
“They’re basically just ruining our spring break, honestly,” a teenager visiting with friends from Atlanta said.“It’s just getting crazier and crazier. I will say that there are a lot of kids that are not respectful to the community, and I do think it’s dangerous,” a Walton County beachgoer and resident shared.
Officials said that minors are allowed on the beaches at any time as long as they have an adult with them. They said adults and families are always allowed on the beaches as long as everyone obeys the laws and stays safe. According to the sheriff’s office, the closure will be in place until further notice.
