Rugby Australia's CEO Andy Marnios has informed his colleagues he has resigned and will step down from the role in the middle of the year.
The RA boss reportedly told his colleagues about his decision to step down in June during a group phone call on Monday.
“The foundations have been established and the business is now well-prepared to test the market for private equity investment, making it the right time for me to move on." RA chairman Hamish McLennan praised Marinos for quickly delivering on the board's directive to return rugby union as a leading sporting code in Austraia.
According to theroar.com.au, the outgoing CEO had angered RA powerbrokers when he took a month-long holiday over the new year period after an unimpressive year for the Wallabies.
