Your Jacksonville-based innovation center “solves problems in unparalleled speed.” What is your leadership style?
I run hard and challenge people constantly to continue to improve, to keep up and to advance. I have a philosophy: keep up or get out of the way. I think that I can probably be a little more friendly sometimes, but I manage a lot of problems. Unfortunately, being CEO means people walk into my office with problems. It’s not, “Hey high-five boss. I just landed a new account.
the Jewish Community Alliance established the Michele Block Gan Yeladim preschool and kindergarten. It is the number one Gan Yeladim curriculum in the US and named after our sister Michele who passed away. The Max Block Food Pantry is named after our father and feeds 150,000 meals per year to local families. Our father suffered from Alzheimer Disease for ten years until his demise.
