Hermoso and held the back of her head while he kissed her on the lips,Mr Rubiales faced widespread criticism for the incident and told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan that while he understood how viewers could misinterpret his intentions he was annoyed at those who “understood very well but twisted the information”.
“This is important in the celebration not only me doing things no, but most of the times they were doing things to me, hitting me, calling me Rubi like my friends call me and these kinds of things were very familiar for me.” “I respect everybody all educated opinions what I don’t respect opinions of people who twist the truth my mum is in this my dad my kids have been insulted this has been a snowball created by spurious arguments and people,” he said.
“I want to reiterate as I did before that I did not like this incident… I felt vulnerable and a victim of an impulse-driven, sexist, out of place act without any consent on my part,” she said in a statement.FIFA suspended Mr Rubiales for 90 days while it completed its own investigation into the incident and Spain’s Sports Administrative Court which has already considered his behaviour a “serious” offence.
