RSPCA investigating 'skinny and almost unresponsive' pony lying in Accrington field
The RSPCA say they are looking into the condition of an ‘extremely skinny’ and ‘almost unresponsive’ pony spotted lying in a field.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, also took some pictures of the pony and posted the images on Facebook to ask people for help. The RSPCA said it is understood the horse has since been removed by its owner.She told LancsLive: “It was very dark and raining so we couldn’t see much. The pony couldn’t stand up, it could just lift it’s head for a couple of seconds and then it laid back down.
She made the following post on Facebook on January 5: “I’m not sure if anyone can help/do anything about this but there’s a pony almost unresponsive in the fields at the back of the new builds on the canal at Church . The post attracted a huge response with more than 400 people reacting to it. An RSPCA spokesperson later said: “We’re really sorry to hear about his poor horse, and commend the people who were trying to help him.
