Bosco the labradoodle is the first of more than 250 dogs and puppies to be re-homed by the RSPCA after Tasmanian Labradoodles closed down under an out-of-court agreement.

Tasmania's RSPCA has re-homed the first of more than 250 dogs and puppies surrendered by Tasmanian Labradoodles .

Just days after a large-scale breeding facility was shut down in northern Tasmania, Bosco the labradoodle is settling into a new family home. An outpouring of community support has also seen thousands of dollars donated towards the dogs' veterinary care.RSPCA Tasmania chief executive officer Andrea Dawkins told ABC Mornings that expressions of interest for the dogs had now closed.

The out-of-court agreement with the breeder included the immediate and permanent closure of the facility and the surrender of all of its dogs. The RSPCA first brought 70 charges for over breeding against the owners, Elizabeth Anne Bartlett and her husband Paul, in early 2023.As a result of the settlement, those charges now won't be pursued.Usually a new foster carer's home is visited by the RSPCA to assess suitability, including fencing.
